Today I was reading a blog from my pastor and realized something important I want to share.
Today’s Insight in the Word-
1 Samuel 15 – The Lord instructed Samuel to destroy all of the Amalakites, but Saul did not obey and intead spared the best livestock and the king. He thought He was pleasing God, but instead God was grieved that he did not listen.
Vs 22,23,28 – “Does the LORD take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? Look: to obey is better than sacrifice,
to pay attention is better than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is like the sin of divination,
and defiance is like wickedness and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the world of the LORD,
He has rejected you as king…. the LORD has torn the kingship of Israel away from you today and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you.”
Walking in the Word-
It is important to always obey the Lord. Doing things that we think may please Him, may indeed do just the opposite. When wondering what to do in any situation I will refer to God’s word to see what He has commanded of me.
Prayer Response to the Word-
Abba, Father, thank you that you are ever so patient with me. Please help me to grow in your word and to be obedient in all things that you commanded of me. Please give me the knowledge and wisdom to discern what your plan is for me. I praise you Lord and thank you for all that you have done! Amen!
